Work Initiative
Network Our WIN
program is similar to our WRP program and offers Putnam County high school students who
have an IEP and who are
working towards a local diploma with
vocational skills training as part of their school curriculum. Students are
provided with practical, paid vocational experiences in the community at
businesses such as Marshall’s, Linens N Things, Subway, Mrs. Green’s, and
Eckerd Drugs. Individuals work closely with a job coach, who slowly fades out
as students feel more comfortable with their new tasks. Training is also
available in computer skills, work etiquette, completing job applications,
writing a resume, and interviewing skills. The objective of the program is to
help students use their work experiences to make realistic, informed choices
in planning for life after high school.
